A quarta faixa de PROMISE conta com algumas influências do soul em sua produção, tendo certo grau de leveza, mas também um tanto de agressividade, assim como sua letra. Após o início que conta com algumas vozes desconhecidas dizendo algo em meio aos instrumentos que soam como se estivessem sendo preparados para serem tocados, a guitarra e bateria guiam a maioria do instrumental, algumas vezes deixando somente silêncio para que somente a voz de Stefan seja escutada, como nos últimos versos dos pré-refrões, e na primeira metade da segunda estrofe.

A letra de "Battle Me" fala sobre pessoas que constantemente tentam criar situações de brigas, "batalhas", simplesmente pelo entretenimento, e também para sentir que está finalmente alcançando em algo, mesmo que esse algo tenha sido criado por essa pessoa em necessidade, que se coloca como vítima na história. Resumidamente, uma mensagem contra brigas desnecessárias. Além disso, Lancaster deixa que essa personagem patética o ataque, e ainda oferece ajuda para ela, até que, nos últimos versos, utilize metáforas relacionadas à prisão para dizer que a pessoa conturbada está "querendo companhia em sua cela", mas que, eventualmente, ninguém mais irá querer estar perto dela para "pagar a custódia".

A antepenúltima faixa do projeto já foi mencionada algumas vezes por Stefan como muito emocionante, e isso se torna claro ao ver sua letra. De forma resumida, "Someday" fala sobre as dificuldades da relação de Stefan com seus pais, sobre as dúvidas relacionadas à como ele, apesar de não ser da maneira como eles queriam, principalmente em quesito religioso, pode ainda ter o amor e aceitação deles. Além disso, ele faz uma crítica à religião, e à maneira como pessoas religiosas dão muito mais importância à acontecimentos do passado, como a santa ceia, do que ao sangue que é derramado do presente, ou seja, problemas atuais.

A sonoridade da faixa é tão melancólica quanto deveria, sendo composta majoritariamente por baterias e guitarras, tendo um toque da música alternativa e do trip hop em sua produção.

A faixa título do projeto tem sua letra organizada de maneira interessante, se dividindo em duas metades, que podem ser chamadas de mais triste, e mais alegre. Estruturas semelhantes dessas metades se alteram entre uma e outra, por exemplo "left behind" (estrofe 1) se torna "right in front" (estrofe 3), e "my young self" (estrofe 2) se torna "my new self" (estrofe 4), ajudando a construir o senso de evolução e superação em sua temática, indo de questionamentos de Stefan sobre promessa(s) não cumpridas, feitas a ele por outras pessoas, até achar forças para ir atrás de seus objetivos por si só, prometendo aquilo à si mesmo.

Sua sonoridade, em contraste à sua letra, é um tanto simples, sendo completamente conduzida por um violão tocado por Stefan. Nas estrofes, algumas leves melodias tem destaque, se repetindo, enquanto nos pré-refrões, os vocais leves se juntem à acordes também leves e um pouco quietos, antes que a melodia do violão volte com força, assim como os potentes e emocionantes vocais.

A última faixa de PROMISE é um pósludio da faixa título, contando com uma versão mais lenta de sua melodia, tocada no piano. A faixa, que leva o nome de um gênero de filmes e animações focadas em um olhar preciso da vida de um protagonista, é quase completamente instrumental, contando apenas com alguns versos em seu "refrão", próximo de seu fim, que deixam claro que o eu lírico aceita o sofrimento como parte de sua vida, mas que isso não a resume, sendo somente uma parte dela. Ao soar do último acorde, Stefan estende a última palavra, "iis...", deixando que o disco seja finalizado por sua voz sozinha, da mesma maneira que o iniciou.
